Arizona Homeschool Laws

Currently, Arizona law requires that all students between the ages of 6 and 16 receive instruction either at home or at a public or private school. When you begin homeschooling, you will need to do the following:

Within 30 days of beginning home instruction, you must file an affidavit of intent to homeschool with your county's superintendent. (After filing the affidavit of intent, you do not need to file another unless you end and then resume home instruction.)
Along with the affidavit, you should send a copy of your child's birth certificate or other proof of the child's identity and age.

The affidavit of intent should include the following information:

Child's name
Child's date of birth
Current address of the school the child is attending (your address)
Names, telephone numbers, and addresses of the persons who currently have custody of the child

You should also know that no Arizona laws require your child to submit to standardized testing.

This Christian organization primarily serves the Far North Valley and Desert Foothills regions. They host and organize a variety of enrichment activities, workshops, and community service opportunities. In addition, DHCH provides a lending library of curriculum and materials for your family to use.
