U.3 L.5 Activity 3 Writing Dates - posted from Milpitas, CA
Rather than just coming up with 10 random dates, I recommend writing family members birthdays and historical events. If you’re child is struggling with putting the dates in order (like mine did) then if you mention how that date is Grandma’s birthday or Daddy’s birthday or the USA’s birthday it gives them some context to understand the date rather than just a jumble of numbers.
Months of the year printable - posted from Milpitas, CA
When we got to this lesson I was really glad that I had a print out of the months of the year all on one sheet. My daughter is not strong on months of the year so this printable from Homeschool Compass came in really handy. We also made cards and hung them like a banner.
If your child needs more practice with number words - posted from Milpitas, CA
For U.3 L.5 Activity 2 when it asks to have your child practice writing number words 1-10 on lined paper and if you feel like your child isn’t able to do this just yet and needs more number practice, maybe try this instead.
We found a good number practice resource from Teachers Pay Teachers for free. We printed the number cards and I had my daughter write the digit on one side, copy the word underneath, and write the tally marks on the other side. We glued it together to make a nice reference page for more practice later.
