Benjamin Franklin by Ingri and Edgar D'Aulaire - posted from ,

We had to resort to this as an alternative book to help my son who is a very linear, black and white kinda guy. He couldn't get beyond the recommended book being just a humorous tale, therefore he was missing so much of the historical content.I am sure the intent of the suggested book is to be exposed to different genres but we found this too abstract to target that for children at this age.The above book is also historical fiction, but the authors are known for their ability to weave the facts within the account in a superb story format...With that being said, we were able to use the required followup worksheets to accomplish the Lang/SS goals minus the mouse's viewpoints.
