The New York Times did an interactive quiz that lets you map what geographical region your dialect is from. It is useful to understand that everyone has distinct dialects (and everyone has an accent!). Since dialects are passed down from generational use and influenced by societal peers, everyone has a unique dialect. You and your child might enjoy seeing where your dialects hail from!
