- Reflexive pronouns are pronouns that end in "-self" or "-selves." They are used to show that something or someone is doing something for or to themselves.

- A verb is a word that that shows what a person, place, or thing is or is doing.
- Past-tense verbs usually end in "-ed" and describe something that happened in the past.
- Some past-tense verbs are irregular, meaning they do not end in "-ed."
Lesson 7: Figurative Language
- A singular noun refers to one person or thing, and a plural noun refers to more than one person or thing.
- Figurative language refers to when an author uses words so that they mean something different from their usual or literal meaning.

- A preposition is a word that tells where something or someone is.
Lesson 9: Apostrophes
- A contraction is a word formed when two words are combined and the missing letter is replaced by an apostrophe (for example, is + not = isn't).
- An apostrophe is a punctuation mark used to form contractions and to show that something belongs to someone.

- Adding an 's to a singular noun is used to show possession (that something belongs to the person, place, or thing).
Lesson 11: Building Sentences
- A conjunction is a word that connects parts of a sentence together.
- The most common conjunctions are the FANBOYS (for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so).
