Lesson 2: What Can Be Balanced?
- A balanced equation has an equal amount on each side.
- A balanced diet helps people stay healthy.
Lesson 3: Symmetry
- Symmetry is found when a figure can be folded so that two halves are identical and line up with each other.
- A vertical line runs from top to bottom.
- A horizontal line runs from left to right.
- A line of symmetry can be vertical or horizontal.
Lesson 4: Force and Motion
- Motion means moving something from one place to another.
- Force is a push or a pull.
Lesson 5: Gravity
- The center of gravity is the point from which the weight of an object is evenly distributed so that the object balances.
- Gravity is a force in nature that works to pull two bodies of matter toward each other. It is the force that keeps objects on the Earth from floating away.
Lesson 6: Friction
- Friction is a force that happens when two objects rub together.
- A singular noun refers to one thing.
- A plural noun refers to more than one thing.
- "Is" and "are" are linking verbs.
