- Everything in the world is made of matter.
- Matter is anything that has mass (weight) and takes up space.
- Matter comes in three states: solids, liquids, and gases.
Lesson 2: Solids
- Solids keep their shape and size unless we change them in some way.
Lesson 3: Liquids
- Liquids take the shape of their container.
- Liquids can be poured.

- A true statement is one that describes something that did happen or can be proven.
- A false statement is not true or can be proven wrong.

- A noun is a person, place, or thing.
- Adjectives are words that describe people, places, or things.
- Molecules are the very small pieces of matter that combine to make a larger amount of the same matter.
- The molecules in solids are close together, in liquids farther apart, and in gases even farther apart.

- States of matter can change.
- Temperature can change the state of matter.

- Solids are made from a variety of materials.
- Some solids are found in nature and some are made when people combine materials.
