Lesson 1: Word Patterns
- Words that follow the same pattern are called rhyming words.
Lesson 2: Making Word Patterns
- Words that rhyme sound the same.
- Words that follow the same pattern are in the same word families.
- Words in the same word family are rhyming words.
Lesson 3: Poetry Patterns
- A poem is a group of words that an author puts together to describe an object or situation, and it often helps readers form a picture in their mind.
- A poem often contains words that follow the same pattern (rhyming words).
Lesson 4: Sentence Patterns
- Sentences follow patterns.
- Naming words are for people, places, and things. We call these words nouns.
- Action words describe what a person or thing is doing. We call these words verbs.
- Sentences begin with a capital letter and end with punctuation, such as a period.
- Some sentences follow the pattern of a person, place, or thing word (naming word) followed by an action word.

- Stories have a beginning, middle, and end.
Lesson 6: Sound Patterns
- Sounds can form patterns.
- We often call sound patterns rhythms.

- Different sounds can be combined to form patterns.
