- Unique is a word we can use to describe something that is different and special.
Lesson 2: Physical Characteristics
- Physical characteristics describe the way something looks on the outside.
Lesson 3: Different Personalities
- Personality is the way a person acts most of the time.
- People have different personalities.
- There is not a right or wrong personality.
Lesson 4: Interests and Hobbies
- Hobbies are activities that people enjoy doing on a regular basis.
- Interests are the things that someone is curious to learn more about.

- All people are different.
- An experience is something that happens to you or is something you do.
- People look and act a certain way because of their personalities, experiences, and interests.
Lesson 6: Different Families
- Families around the world look different.
- Family members help one another.
- Family members have responsibilities.
- Responsibility means doing the things you are supposed to do and doing them well.
Lesson 7: Different Homes
- People around the world live in different types of homes.
- Homes provide shelter from the weather.
- Homes provide a place for families to come together and share meals, conversations, and time.
Lesson 8: Different Holidays and Traditions
- A holiday is a special day that is celebrated by a culture.
- A tradition is a special practice or event in a family or culture that happens in the same way at the same time. It is a custom or practice that is passed down from one generation to the next.
Lesson 9: Different Modes of Transportation
- The different ways that people get from one place to another are called modes of transportation.
- Cars, trucks, trains, planes, horses, boats, and bicycles are all modes of transportation.
Lesson 10: Wants and Needs
- All humans have wants and needs.
- A need is something a person must have in order to live and be healthy.
- A want is something a person would like to have but that is not needed in order to live.
- People need food, water, clothing, shelter, and other people.
Lesson 11: Being Part of a Group
- The people in a group are called members.
- People who are part of a group are usually similar to the other members of the group in some way.
