- A community helper works in a job that helps people who live in the community.

- Money is what we trade for goods and services.
- A service is when someone does something to help someone in exchange for money.
- Goods are objects you can buy and use.

- Resources are the goods and services provided by our communities and environment.
- Natural resources are found in nature.
- Manmade resources are services provided by people and goods made by people.
Lesson 6: A Good Community Citizen
- A citizen is a person who lives in a community.
Lesson 7: A Citizen with Character
- People with character demonstrate respect, responsibility, kindness, and honesty.
- Respect means listening to people and treating people and things as if they are important.
- Responsibility means doing the best you can at any job and controlling your actions.
- Kindness means treating people nicely and helping people.
- Honesty means telling the truth at all times.
Lesson 8: Rules and Laws
- A rule is direction for how to behave (what to do or not to do).
- A law is a rule to be followed in the community.
- Rules and laws help keep people safe and happy.
Lesson 9: Caring for Our Communities
- Good citizens care for their communities and try to make them better places to live.
Final Project: I Can Make A Difference
- A plan is where you record the steps you must take to carry out an idea or action.
