Division can be thought of as dividing a group of objects into smaller groups with equal parts or as repeated subtraction.

Unit fraction: a fraction that has a numerator of 1
Algorithm: sequence of steps to follow when completing a math operation
The reciprocal of any fraction is when the numerator and the denominator are flipped. For example, the reciprocal of 2/1 is 1/2.
To divide a unit fraction by a whole number, you keep the first fraction, switch the division sign to a multiplication sign, flip the second fraction (to create its reciprocal), and then solve the problem.

Lesson 4: Dividing Whole Numbers by Unit Fractions

To divide a whole number by a unit fraction, change the whole number to a fraction (for example, from 3 to 3/1), switch the division sign to a multiplication sign, flip the second fraction (to create its reciprocal), and then solve the problem.
