Lesson 1: Data and Graphing Basics
- Data: a collection of facts, including numbers, words, measurements, and observations
- Survey: to collect data by asking people questions about their opinions and behaviors
- Graph: a picture that shows numbers or amounts in two or more groups
- Bar graph: a graph that uses rectangular bars to show amounts
- Pictograph: a graph that uses pictures to show amounts
- Non-scaled (single-unit) graph: graph that uses numbers that count by 1
- Scaled graph: graph that uses numbers that count by a number other than 1
