- Commas are used to separate cities and states. If the city and state come in the middle of the sentence, put a comma after the state as well.

- Churches and government groups often have programs to help people in need who live in the community.
- When two words are combined to form a contraction, an apostrophe is used in place of the missing letter(s).

- Words in parentheses can be taken out and the sentence will still make sense.
- Fiction stories can provide factual information about a culture and a place.
